The Hocking Hills Region of Ohio is known as "Ohio's Scenic Wonderland."

Part of the area natural beauty comes from its deep scenic gorges, waterfalls, native hemlock forest, and an abundance of wild flowers. The area is covered by 9 State Parks, 3 State Forests, Central Ohio's largest Metro Park, 6 Nature Preserves, and part of the Wayne National Forest. Conveniently located less than one hour drive southeast of Columbus.

Old Man's Cave, the most popular of all the Hocking areas is located on State Route 664. At the Upper Falls the Grandma Gatewood Trail begins its six-mile course connecting three of the park's areas: Old Man's Cave to Cedar Falls to Ash Cave. This trail has been designated as part of Ohio's Buckeye Trail as well as part of two national systems - the North Country Scenic Trail and America's Discovery Trail. Outdoor activities include hiking, bird watching, rock climbing, canoeing, horseback riding and camping. The rural area around the parks also features many unique shops and galleries.
